Long time no post, apologies for this. I've never been very good at keeping diaries and such - maybe a blog as a hobby wasn't the best idea! We've just spent a superbly soggy week in the Peak District, the great outdoors adventure we planned was somewhat scuppered, we weren't equipped for the ever so wet elements!
Thank goodness for telly, crosswords and multiplayer Mario & Sonic at the Olympics on the DS (our basketball battles have become personal!) Watching too many property programs can be bad for you too, I don't know whether to redecorate, rearrange, move to the country, move country, demolish and rebuild as a lighthouse or become obsessed by traffic noise? Or I might just look through the IKEA catalogue and daydream, this is probably the best plan.
We watched quite a few films too (V for Vendetta is good) The Beach was alright, not as good as the book, but the song at the end was a huge blast from the past - choon! I love it when you hear a song and it instantly takes you right back to a time and place. For me this song puts me back in my old bedroom at Mum & Dad's, on summer holiday from uni, playing with my new and beautiful iMac and dreaming that now I've got my 'super computer' I'll be able to design CD covers as cool as the Pysence Fiction one!
This is a great album, if you've never heard it then do give it a go (you can get it on Amazon for under a fiver!) I'm reacquainting myself with it at the mo and it sounds as good now as it did then. There are collaborations with, among others Badly Drawn Boy, Thom Yorke, Mike D and Richard Ashcroft who's featured in this track. If you're struggling to find something new to listen to then listen to something old (this was a 1998 release, good lord I feel old!) - you won't be disappointed.
Listen to it here...
Wow, has that 'review' (in the loosest sense!) knocked your socks off? There's plenty more where that came from, browse our articles by genre...
