Hands up if the lovely weather this week has put a spring in your step? Hands up if the lovely weather this week has made you dig out your dusty sandals? Hands up if the lovely weather this week has prompted you to try and put all the music back on your iPod that got inadvertently deleted months ago accompanied at the time with a slow motion "Noooooo!" Just me for the last one then - an epic task that is proving impossible to squeeze in alongside work :(
In between much work and numerous tea breaks in the garden I have managed to have a fair few listens of the new Strokes album and I think I like. They say "different strokes for different folks" and this album certainly has something for everyone whilst retaining a 'stroke-like feel' (that sounds a bit rude!) My fave choons at the moment are... Under the Cover of Darkness - classic. Taken for a Fool - verses sound like the Chillis, nice! Metabolism - wouldn't be out of place on a Muse album, cool. Like I said the album has quite a varied selection of songs and it's definitely worth a punt, I downloaded mine off Amazon for about 4 quid what a steal!
If you want to read a review of the album by someone who sounds like they know what they're talking about, as opposed to my "ooh I like this" offering have a look here. Jacob is young and enthusiastic (two qualities I now sadly lack!) but he knows his onions, has great taste in music and seems to have a knack for reviewing.
ps. seeing as I've said the phrase 'different strokes' it would be rude not to...
