21 - Adele

When you're a kid Christmas is eagerly awaited and fantastically exciting, opening up presents is great fun but getting that special something that you'd waited patiently for and that turns out to be just as brilliant as you thought it would be is an amazing feeling. As you get older there are (sadly) less of such occasions, the kind that leave you feeling truly happy and satisfied - even finding baby peppers inside normal peppers doesn't give you that same thrill.

However this week I've got that special feeling thanks to Adele's new album 21. I don't know about you, but when I like a particular artist and they bring out new material I'm always slightly nervous that it's not going to be as good as I hope? Having loved Adele from the start and 19 being one of my favourite albums of recent years I was hopeful that 21 would be just as good. I can't say at the moment if I think it's better, I've only listened to it about 25 times ;) But sticking with this odd Christmas present analogy I'd say getting it has been like getting a Buzz Lightyear, I'm bloody loving it!

There are no 'skippers' on it and quite a few 'repeaters' - a very healthy balance. Turning Tables, He Won't Go and Someone Like You are my serial repeaters at the moment, but the whole album is brilliant I can't say enough nice things about it. If you haven't already go and get it, or download it (legally). Just looked on iTunes and it's number one and 19 is number six - nice one.

Watch her beautiful performance of Someone Like You on Later below. Hooray for Adele and hooray for early birthday presents!
