Very long time, no post! And to anyone who does read this blog (I'm sure there's one somewhere ;) I'm sorry for being so crap! There's a lot going on at the moment and blogging isn't really a top priority, I could do with a 'mini me' to help double my time. But enough moaning - what a great way to start my comeback, a nice big dollop of Massive Attack lovliness.

The gig was at the O2 Academy in Birmingham, which has now moved from Dale End to Bristol Street (where 'The Dome' used to be). The new venue is much the same as the old one (one sticky carpet is much the same as another) it might be a bit bigger and there are a couple of other rooms there, Academy 2 & 3 which I'd imagine are smaller venues.

This gig was long awaited and much anticipated, I'd seen them years ago and was expecting great things again and they didn't disappoint. They were awesome and though I don't have a set list or a very good memory I'm sure they performed most of their hits and some new material too. Teardrops, Karmacoma, Angel and Safe From Harm among the highlights for me. Horace Andy and Martina Topley Bird provided amazing vocals on a selection of tracks. MTB was the support act too and she played a great set (we missed the start though as we were hot-footing it across town from Dale End, doh!). Her debut album Quixotic is really good and I believe she has new material coming out soon, see her website for more info.

When me and Nat left we were buzzing! This wasn't due to consumption of alcohol or any other stimulants, it was a 'school night' and I was driving, it was the exhilaration of great live music. I felt as though my internal organs were still vibrating from the grumbling bass and standing at gigs always makes my legs and back ache - though at least I was sensible enough to wear trainers Nat! But it's all worth it when you hear one of your favourite choons.

I'd like to give a special mention to 'handy man' as we called him, a bloke who was standing a few rows in front of us to the right of the stage. He must have had sore arms the following day as he spent the whole gig with his arms aloft pointing, clapping, waving, fist pumping, conducting and playing air drums. It was v funny! Though probably not for the people standing right by him.

If anyone else was there and would like to add to this please do so, I'd love to hear your opinions. Also if you've got any feedback on the website please get in touch.

Been to any good gigs lately? Let us know about it, the ichoon gang would love to do nothing other than go to gigs, but that's never going to happen! So we need your help to keep everyone up to date. E-mail us your thoughts
